First written and performed by Mohammed Druf in 1999, this Bidawyet song is about Eritreans’ love for their country no matter where they live. The song, whose lyrics are homage to the healing and revitalizing effect of reveling in the elements of one’s homeland, is a call to Eritrean ex- iles to return home. It is accompanied by a traditional Bidawyet dance known as Quas, inspired by the movement of birds, which symbolize peace.
